ICI-IWC conference 2018

                                                         


Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) is a leading professional body in India, catering to professionals, Organizations and institutions in the area of concrete. It was second time almost after a gap of 25 years that Innovative World of Conference-IWC was held in Bengaluru. It was first organized in Bengaluru in 1993. This year ICI-IWC 2018 was scheduled from 19th to 22nd September,2018 at NIHMANS Convention Centre, Bengaluru, Karnataka-India.IWC-2018 main theme was to meet housing and infrastructure challenges with minimum carbon foot prints and maximum safety.

The IWC-2018 international conference commenced on 19th with the inauguration held by ICI President Vivek Naik. He said, “India ranked 40th out of 167 nations in the global competitive index, and its ranking was actually low because it had received a low score in the parameter termed 'spirit of innovation.' He further stated, "We need to change methods of financing and resource managemnet to improve our innovationlevels. This is a challenge for the students”.

The keynote speakers at IWC-2018 were Dr. Ing. -Gregor Zimmermann, Er. Vinay Gupta, Mr. Khalid W. Awad, Dr. Hiroshi Yakota, Mr. Marcel Poscer and Ar. Gurjit Singh Matharoo.
Followed by lead speakers Er. ArunKahikar, Dr. C R Parthasarathy, Dr. ViswanathMahadevan, Er. V. R. Kulkarni, Er. K Srinivas Reddy and Mr. Umang Bhavsar.
The ICI-IWC international conference and other ICI activities were well appreciated and attended by various builders, developers, consultants and architects, researchers, Academic and students, Government and public sector undertakings etc

Road consist of basically 4 layers: Sub-grade: The sub-grade material should be clean and free from organic matter and should be able to be compacted by roller, to form stable sub-base. DESIGN PROCEDURES FOR A BUILDING FOUNDATION

Good design must not only be safe but must aim to save construction costs, time and materials. The following procedures should help to achieve this and an ‘educated’ client will recognize the importance of funding this work with a realistic fee. 1.
