34th NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS


The Institute of Engineers (India) local center Nagpur organized their 34th NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS (NCCE-2018) and National Seminar on Recent Advances in Infrastructure Development. It was a tow day event from 8th–9th September 2018. The technical programme commenced with inaugural session and award presentation, followed by felicitation of Eminent engineering personalities and IEI Young engineer awardees.
                                                           KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND DELEGATES OF 34TH NATIONAL CONVENTION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS

The technical session was delivered by keynote speakers on some vital important topics like “Innovative technique for concrete road (Design, Materials and technology)” by Er. Vivek Naik, President Indian Concrete Institute and MDof Apple Chemie India Pvt. Ltd., “smart cities and buildings” by Er. Rajesh Sawant, “sustainable high-performance building. Proactive role of civil engineers in carbon footprints reductions” by Dr. Ajit Sabnis and so on just to name a few.

The all Keynote speakers had a panel discussion regarding future of civil engineers. Among all the keynote speakers Er. Vivek Naik alsolaid his views regarding few important changes to be carried out for future advancement in construction by civil engineers, with more emphasis towards design, material and technology. The event concluded by giving away awards for the best technical session followed by valedictory function and the end of seminar session.

DESIGN PROCEDURES FOR A BUILDING FOUNDATION

Good design must not only be safe but must aim to save construction costs, time and materials. The following procedures should help to achieve this and an ‘educated’ client will recognize the importance of funding this work with a realistic fee. 1.
