Indian Concrete Institute's formation day is celebrated as “Concrete Day” all over India during the month of September. This year it was celebrated on 7th September,2018 at ICI-Hyderabad center.
Headquartered in Chennai, the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) is a registered professional body having more than 12, 000 enrolled members, from 38 regional Centers in all major cities, spread across the entire length and breadth of the country. The Indian Concrete Institute was formed as a professional organization on September 7, 1982. The ICI is dedicated to the betterment of concrete, concrete construction in the field and in the field of research. It has been organizing seminars, workshops, lectures and structured training Programmes for the betterment of the knowledge of people in the construction industry.

The delegates present on the auspicious occasion were Honorable Sri. K. Rosaiah (Former chief minister of A.P & Ex. Governor of Tamil Nadu) as the Chief Guest, Sri Vivek Naik (President, INDIAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE), Smt. N. Padmavathi Reddy (Architect & MLA) as the guest of honor. The programme commenced with prayers followed by technical presentations.

The ICI (HYDC) center had organized various technical presentations and seminars. The concrete day technical presentation was on “MAKING OF HYDERABAD METRO CONCRETE PERSEPECTIVES” The ICI - UltraTech Excellence Awards recognize and reward the country's best concrete excellence achievements. The awards acknowledge the efforts across projects, persons and companies that have outshone others in their respective categories.

ICI (HYDC) - UltraTech Award 2018 were: Concrete Excellence Awards_2018, Outstanding concrete engineer, Outstanding concrete structure, Outstanding ICI Student Chapter and ICI & UltraTech Awards for District wise.

This year HYDERABAD METRO RAIL PROJECT WON CONCRETE EXCELLENCE AWARD 2018, while Lucknow Metro Wins ICI (Lucknow) – Ultratech Award for Outstanding Concrete Structure, 2018.

Good design must not only be safe but must aim to save construction costs, time and materials. The following procedures should help to achieve this and an ‘educated’ client will recognize the importance of funding this work with a realistic fee. 1.
