Prefabricated construction

Prefabrication is not actually a very new technique in the construction industry, but there are innovative technologies in this that are coming up and making the process unique. The literal meaning of prefabrication is the practice of assembling components of a structure in a factory or other manufacturing site, and transporting complete assemblies or sub-assemblies to the construction site where the structure is to be located.

Construction got a big boost in prefab construction as technologies continue to make it a better option. The construction industry has been using prefabrication in various applications for decades. In addition, the new technologies are making the benefits of prefabrication easier to access. These technologies are changing the way the construction industry integrates prefab into the process.

In addition, the new trend of green building has also affected the use of prefabrication in construction. Prefabrication can design and construct buildings that are more environmentally friendly. Prefab’s potential advantages over site-built projects are manifold, site waste is reduced, 76 per cent of respondents.

Prefab has many advantages but one main reason to stop some companies to use it addition of transportation costs for large modules, and the need for a heavy-duty crane to move them into place. Despite this, most of the companies are using prefabrication, as it is an important technology to progress in the construction industry.
