IPL at 3rd R. N. Raikar Memorial International Conference and Gettu-Kodur International Symposium



The India Chapter of the American Concrete Institute and co-hosted by ACI, organized the 3rd R. N. Raikar Memorial International Conference and Gettu-Kodur International Symposium on Advances in Science & Technology of Concrete at The St. Regis, Mumbai from 14th to 15th December 2018. It was one of the leading concrete events of the world.


Held in Mumbai, the two-day event titled 3rd R. N. Raikar Memorial International Conference & Gettu-Kodur International Symposium was helmed by India Chapter of American Concrete Institute (ICACI) and its parent body, the American Concrete Institute (ACI). Er. Vivek Naik, was honoured as the National President of INDIAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE by American Concrete Institute. 

The event saw the inauguration of a book on High-Performance, High-Volume Fly Ash Concrete for building Durable & Sustainable Structures by Prof. V. M. Malhotra, and a lecture by international expert Dr. S. K. Ghosh “Earthquake-Resistant Design”. He is also a major contributor to ACI 318.
About 100 international papers were presented at the event, representing more than 30 countries. The Government of Canada initiative IC – IMPACT also supported the conference. It was for the first time that ACI conducted a full session outside of USA. 18 international professional associations had supported the event. Papers from all over the world were presented at the Conference on issues like corrosion, rehabilitations, steel structures and bridges as special structures needing careful consideration to construct.

Road consist of basically 4 layers: Sub-grade: The sub-grade material should be clean and free from organic matter and should be able to be compacted by roller, to form stable sub-base. DESIGN PROCEDURES FOR A BUILDING FOUNDATION

Good design must not only be safe but must aim to save construction costs, time and materials. The following procedures should help to achieve this and an ‘educated’ client will recognize the importance of funding this work with a realistic fee. 1.
